If you’re a TV shows junkie like me, chances are you’ve heard about actress Genevieve Cortese-Padalecki, an experienced stage actress. Genevieve made her debut TV appearance on Wildfire as Kris Furillo, a young woman who loves horses. She is also known for her short-lived, but famous character role as Ruby 2.0 in CW network’s popular series Supernatural.

What fans may not know about her is that she’s a hippy but sweet girl who has quite a collection of Converse shoes. And the good news is that Genevieve has put up one pair, the Cranberry Converse All-Star shoes with her signature on it for auction. The money will go to a charity that supports families and children in crisis. Well, that’s just another reason to love her!

Her husband, Supernatural star Jared Padalecki, also recently auctioned one autographed pair of Converse shoes for the same cause.

Let us kick the new year off with this new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Metal Python High tops which will be available this month of January 2010. The Metal Python chucks still bears the usual sole of Chuck Taylor but it covered with a python skin which is actually a bit scary in my opinion. Snakes and pythons freaks me out(who doesn’t?) but with this design for Chuck Taylor sneakers? Well ain’t that cool!

I got a confession to make. I love everything about Chuck Taylor sneakers but I never wear one before. The reason are I am having doubts if I could still look good and will it blend with the clothes I wear. Only one way to find out so I went to our local mall here in Davao City, Philippines where there is a Converse store.
